Casa Effect Sport, headquarters of Effect Sport, the agency responsible for organizing the Cristo Half Marathon, welcomed representatives from the main sports coaching groups on July 30th to present, first-hand, the novelties of the 5th edition of the race.**
The event, sponsored by Olympikus, is scheduled for October 19th and has a limited number of participants: only 1,200 runners, distributed across the 10km and 21km distances.**
With a route through Tijuca National Park — the second largest urban forest in the world — the Cristo Half Marathon stands out for its scenery that includes iconic spots such as Vista Chinesa, Mesa do Imperador, Alto da Boa Vista, and Paineiras, finishing at the feet of Christ the Redeemer at sunrise.**
"We want to value the work of running coaching groups, which are fundamental to the success of street races in Rio. This meeting was designed to listen to and bring this audience even closer," said Bernardo Thilman, technical director of the event.
The race is part of Olympikus' 50th anniversary commemorative calendar, which selected 50 races throughout Brazil to celebrate the date. The Cristo Half Marathon is part of the "Run with Your Eyes" category, focused on routes that highlight scenery of great natural beauty.
It's a source of pride to unite the celebration of Olympikus' 50 years with one of the country's most important landmarks and to count on the support of Rio's running community," highlighted Bianca Dallegrave, Olympikus marketing manager.
Registered athletes are guaranteed return by the Corcovado Train and can purchase an optional ticket for a celebratory breakfast at Jo&Joe, in Largo do Boticário. The last spots are available on the website.
